ZOOOP AI CLI: generate images, video and audio from your terminal

One npm package gives your terminal 70+ AI models, including GPT Image, Nano Banana, Seedance, Kling and ElevenLabs. Log in through your browser, then price, run and download generations with a single command, or script them in CI.

Every top model, one command

The CLI reads the live ZOOOP catalog, so new image, video and audio models work the day they launch. No update needed.

$zooop models --type video

Built for terminals and scripts

--json on every command, clean stdout for pipes, progress on stderr and meaningful exit codes. Drop it into a shell script, a Makefile or a CI job.

$zooop tasks --json | jq .tasks[0].status

Pay-as-you-go credits

Runs are charged to your ZOOOP balance. No subscription, credits never expire, and you can see the exact price before anything runs.

$zooop quote --template claymation-me

What you can generate

Everything the ZOOOP public API offers, plus the one-click templates from the gallery and specialised AI tools such as background removal and upscaling.

Image

Text-to-image, image-to-image, prompt-driven edits, inpainting, SVG vector output, upscaling and background removal.

Video

Text-to-video, animate a still, first/last-frame interpolation, motion transfer, lip-sync, extend and restyle.

Audio

Text-to-speech in a chosen voice, voice cloning from a sample, sound effects and full music tracks.

Models are listed live from the catalog, so a model published today works the same day. Browse all models.

Every template is one command away

The one-click templates from the gallery run from the terminal too. zooop templates show prints the inputs a template needs, and zooop run --template makes it with your photo.

Get started in three steps

About two minutes. You need a terminal and a ZOOOP account.

  1. 1

    Install the CLI

Install it globally with your package manager, or run it on demand with npx. It needs Node.js 18 or later and nothing else.

    npm install -g zooop
    zooop --help

Installs the zooop command for your user account.

  2. 2

    Log in through your browser

zooop login shows a short code and opens zooop.ai/cli/login. Check that the browser shows the same code, choose the account and project, and click Authorize. There is no key to copy or paste.

Create an API key for CI

Only approve a code you started yourself. You can revoke the key at any time on the API keys page or with zooop logout.

    zooop login

Opens your default browser. The key is saved for this computer only, in a file only you can read.

  3. 3

    Make your first generation

Find a model, check the price, then run it. The CLI waits for the result and saves it to the current directory.

    First run
zooop models --type image --subtype default
zooop quote --model <model-id> --version <version-id> -p prompt="a red panda eating noodles"
zooop run --model <model-id> --version <version-id> -p prompt="a red panda eating noodles"

Log in with your browser, not a pasted key

zooop login shows a short code and opens zooop.ai/cli/login. Check that the two codes match, approve, and the CLI is signed in. The key never passes through your clipboard.

$ zooop login
code:
QBKF-7XRM

The terminal shows a one-time code

zooop.ai/cli/login
QBKF-7XRM
Authorize

Your browser shows the same code. Approve it

Examples

Copy one, swap in a model ID from zooop models, and run it.

Text to image

Generate a widescreen shot and save it to ./renders.

zooop run --model <model-id> --version <version-id> \
-p prompt="a neon-lit rainy Tokyo alley, cinematic" \
-p aspect_ratio=16:9 --out ./renders

Image to video

Animate a local photo. The file is uploaded first; the input names come from zooop models.

zooop run --model <model-id> --version <version-id> \
-p prompt="slow push-in, hair moving in the wind" \
-p image_url=@./portrait.jpg -p duration=5

Run a gallery template

Pick a template and give it your photo.

zooop templates --type video
zooop run --template <slug> -p 'image_urls=["@./me.jpg"]' --out ./results

Batch from a script

Queue several prompts at once and collect the task IDs with jq.

for subject in "red fox" "snow owl" "arctic hare"; do
zooop run --model <model-id> --version <version-id> \
-p prompt="$subject, studio photo" --no-wait --json | jq -r .taskId
done
zooop tasks --status running

Safe by default

The CLI spends real credits, so it is careful about keys and money.

No keys in your shell history
Browser login hands the CLI a key directly. Nothing is pasted, and the key is stored in a file only you can read.
Every key has limits
Each CLI key expires after 30, 90 or 365 days, is bound to one project, and can carry a daily credit cap that you set when you approve it.
Know the price first
zooop quote returns the exact credit cost and an estimated time before you run anything.
Retries never pay twice
Each run carries an idempotency key, so running the same command again within 24 hours returns the existing task instead of charging again.

FAQ

What is the ZOOOP AI CLI?

A free command-line client for ZOOOP. It lets you generate AI images, video and audio from a terminal or a script, with the same models and credits as the web app.

What do I need to run it?

Node.js 18.17 or later on macOS, Linux or Windows, and a ZOOOP account. The package has no other dependencies.

Which models can I use?

Every model on the ZOOOP public API: image models such as GPT Image and Nano Banana, video models such as Seedance, Kling and Wan, and audio models for speech, voice cloning, sound effects and music. Run zooop models to see the current list.

How much does it cost?

The CLI itself is free. Each generation costs the same credits as on the website, and zooop quote shows the exact price before you run it.

Can I use it in CI or scripts?

Yes. Set ZOOOP_API_KEY instead of logging in, add --json for machine-readable output, and check the exit code: 0 for success, 1 for an API or task failure, 2 for a usage error.

How do I log out or revoke access?

Run zooop logout to revoke the key and delete it from your computer, or revoke it on the API keys page. A revoked key stops working everywhere.

How is it different from the ZOOOP agent skill?

The CLI is for you: type the commands yourself, or call them from your own scripts. The skill teaches an AI agent such as Claude Code or Codex to use ZOOOP from a conversation.
