Ozil Goal AI: Score the Famous Solo Goal Yourself (or Let Grandma Do It)

Tutorials게시일

A grandmother in a lilac cardigan races onto a long ball under the floodlights. The goalkeeper rushes out, she lifts the ball over him, two defenders slide in and miss, and she rolls it into the empty net as if she has done it all her life. That is the Ozil goal trend, and right now it is all over short-video feeds.

This post covers where the trend came from, what happens in those thirteen seconds, and how to put yourself, your grandma or your dog into the Ozil goal from a single photo.

Where did the Ozil goal trend come from?

The original is a solo goal Mesut Özil scored in November 2016, a late winner away in Bulgaria. He ran onto a long ball, chipped the keeper as he came out, let two defenders slide past him at the edge of the box and calmly rolled the ball into the empty net. Football fans have been replaying it for ten years.

In October 2026 people started recasting the scorer. One of the first versions to spread had a grandmother taking the run, and after that it was everyone: uncles in their Sunday jacket, office workers in a shirt and tie, cats and dogs. The joke is always the same. Someone who has no business being on a professional pitch scores one of the cleverest goals of the decade, and makes it look easy. That is the clip our template recreates.

The goal, moment by moment

Our Ozil Goal AI template follows the goal in one continuous shot, filmed from pitch level under the floodlights with the stands packed behind you. It plays out like this:

  1. You sprint toward goal with the ball at your feet.
  2. The goalkeeper rushes out, and you chip the ball over him.
  3. He dives past, and you chase the ball as it drops.
  4. Two defenders close in, you shift the ball, and both of them slide past and end up on the grass.
  5. You run on, shoot, and the ball rolls into the empty net.

Four moments of the Ozil goal: the sprint toward goal, the chip over the diving goalkeeper, a defender sliding past, and the ball in the net

And in motion. The animations in this post are silent and shortened; the real clip runs the full thirteen seconds, with sound.

Which photo works best

The template needs one photo of one person or one pet. A few things make a big difference:

  • A full-body photo. You are on screen from head to toe for the whole run, so a photo that shows your build, your trousers and your shoes gives the best result.
  • What you wear comes along. This is the fun part. The scorer wears the outfit from your photo, not a football kit, so a cardigan, a suit or a hoodie scores the goal.
  • A sharp face in good light. The camera runs right next to you, so a blurry photo gives you a blurry striker.
  • One subject per photo. With two people in the picture, the template cannot tell who should take the shot.

Pets keep their own face, fur colour and markings and play the whole goal on four legs, nudging the ball with their paws. The background of your photo never comes along: it is always the same floodlit stadium.

How to make your Ozil goal video with ZOOOP

  1. Open the Ozil Goal AI template and upload one photo of yourself, of someone who said yes, or of your pet.
  2. Keep Person selected, or switch to Pet for a cat or a dog. Keep 480p, or pick 720p if you want it sharper.
  3. Hit generate and download the clip.

No prompt, no editing. The stadium, the keeper, the two defenders and every touch are already in place.

What surprised us while building the template

Our first version looked like an old TV replay. The camera sat high up in the stands, the picture was soft and you were a small figure on a huge green pitch. You could tell who it was mostly by the clothes. We moved the camera down to the touchline, right next to the scorer, and suddenly it looked like a sharp match-day shot.

Left: an early test, filmed from far away and soft. Right: the version we shipped, filmed from pitch level beside the scorer

Everyone kept ending up in a football kit. In the first sharp version, our test person was back in a yellow and navy kit with a shirt number, which defeats the whole point. A grandmother in a cardigan scoring the Ozil goal is funny; a random player scoring it is not. Now the outfit from your photo stays on from the first frame to the last.

The corgi did not chip the keeper. It jumped over him. Pets play the goal their own way. Our corgi took the ball on its head, leapt clean over the diving keeper and trotted the rest of the way to the net. We liked that more than the original.

Sometimes a second keeper shows up. Every so often an extra goalkeeper appears on the line at the very end and dives the wrong way. We kept it. The ball still goes in.
