Video to MP3

Video to MP3 怎麼用

  1. 1Drop the video onto the box above, or click it to browse. Extension does not matter much, since the actual container is detected from the file.
  2. 2The converter loads once, roughly 30 MB, then reads the audio track out of whatever container you gave it.
  3. 3Listen to the result on the page, then download it. Convert several and take them as one .zip.

Why "video" and not just MP4

Files arrive in whatever their source produced. An iPhone gives you MOV. A download gives you MKV. A browser screen recorder gives you WebM. An old camcorder tape capture gives you AVI, and a broadcast recording gives you TS. All of them are containers, and all of them wrap an audio stream that can be pulled out.

That is the whole reason to convert video to MP3 through something that reads every container rather than one that only knows MP4. The step that has to work is demuxing, and it is different for each format. Whatever you started with, the job is the same: extract audio from video, then encode it.

What lives inside each one

The container tells you very little about the audio codec. Roughly:

  • MP4 and MOV almost always hold AAC
  • WebM holds Opus, or Vorbis on older files
  • MKV holds anything at all, including lossless FLAC
  • AVI usually holds MP3 or AC-3
  • TS from a broadcast typically holds AC-3 or AAC

This matters for one practical reason. If your MKV happens to contain FLAC, then converting it to MP3 is a genuine first-generation encode from lossless material, and 320 kbps will sound excellent. If your WebM contains a 96 kbps Opus stream, no MP3 bitrate can add back what Opus already discarded, and picking 320 just makes a bigger file.

Sample rate, channels and metadata

The source sample rate is kept as it is. Nothing is resampled to 48 kHz, and a mono source stays mono instead of being doubled into two identical channels. Titles and artist tags come across when the container declares them.

Files up to 500 MB are accepted, which covers most single clips. Beyond that a browser tab cannot hold the container, so the tool says so before starting rather than dying partway.

常見問題

Which formats can it actually read?
The engine is a full build of ffmpeg, so the practical answer is almost anything. MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, WebM, AVI, WMV, FLV, TS, MPEG and 3GP all work, along with the many audio codecs they can contain. The rare failure is a file using a codec this particular build was compiled without, which the tool reports rather than producing a broken MP3.
Why does my WebM sound different from the MP4 version?
They usually hold different codecs. WebM carries Opus or Vorbis, MP4 carries AAC, and each one was encoded from the master separately. Converting either to MP3 adds one more lossy step on top of whatever the source already did.
Does the video resolution affect how long it takes?
Barely. No frames are decoded, so a 4K file and a 720p file of the same length finish in roughly the same time. Length is what costs you, not pixels.
Can I get better than MP3 out of a video?
Yes, and for archiving you should. Our audio converter writes FLAC and WAV as well, both of which store the decoded audio without a second lossy pass. MP3 is the right pick when compatibility matters more than fidelity.
Does anything reach your servers?
No. The file is opened by your browser and processed on your machine. The only network request is for the converter itself, and only the first time.
