GIF Maker

  1. 1Drop your images onto the box above. They become frames in the order you picked them.
  2. 2Rearrange with the arrows if the order is wrong, then choose the time per frame and output width.
  3. 3Press Create GIF and download the looping result.

What this makes, and how to make it well

A GIF from stills is a flipbook: it shows moments in sequence, looping forever, autoplaying everywhere without sound or a play button. That makes it the right format for before-and-after comparisons, small product turnarounds, reaction sequences, sprite previews and step-by-step UI walkthroughs. It is the wrong format for anything that needs smooth motion or photographic colour, and the page above will not pretend otherwise.

Two settings shape the result. Time per frame is the rhythm: fast for flipbook energy, slow for a slideshow. Width is the size lever, and GIFs get heavy quickly; 480 pixels is plenty for chats and comment sections, and going wider should be a deliberate choice.

The palette, and why order matters

GIF allows 256 colours per palette, and cheap tools compute a palette per frame, which makes colours pop and shimmer as the loop plays. This tool computes one palette across all frames, so a red that appears in frame one is the same red in frame nine. The cost is honesty about photographs: skies and gradients will band a little, because 256 colours is all there is.

Frames play in exactly the order shown, and the arrows let you fix what the file picker got wrong. All frames adopt the first image's shape, so lead with the image whose framing you want the GIF to have.

If you want it to actually move

A flipbook switches between moments; nothing moves inside a frame. When what you really want is the photo coming to life, that is a different tool: an image-to-video model generates the in-between motion from a single still. The link below the tool goes there. For the flipbook itself, you are in the right place, and nothing you drop here leaves your browser.

What image formats can I use as frames?
Anything a browser can display, plus HEIC from iPhones, which browsers cannot display but this site decodes anyway. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP all work, in any mix. Every frame is drawn onto a shared canvas first, so differently sized images end up centered on a matching background rather than jumping around.
Why does my GIF look grainy compared to the photos?
Because GIF is a 256-colour format from 1989, and no tool can change that. Photographs hold millions of colours, so squeezing them into a shared palette costs smoothness in gradients like skies and skin. This tool computes one palette across all your frames, which avoids the flicker cheaper tools produce, but the format's ceiling is the format's ceiling. For photo slideshows that need to look like photos, a video is the better container.
How do I control the speed?
The time-per-frame setting applies to every frame. 0.1 seconds is a rapid flipbook, half a second suits before-and-after pairs, and two seconds reads as a slideshow. The GIF loops forever, which is what every platform expects of it.
Why did differently sized images get white bars?
All frames share the first image's shape. A frame with a different aspect ratio is scaled to fit and centered on white, which keeps the animation stable instead of stretching your images. If you want no bars, crop your images to the same aspect ratio first; our image tools can do that.
Are my photos sent anywhere?
No. Decoding, layout and GIF encoding all run inside your browser. The photos never leave your device, which matters when the frames are family pictures rather than screenshots.
