Cozy Felt Me — Turn a Photo Into a Hand-Stitched Felt Portrait

Soft wool fibres, visible stitching and warm studio light — your photo remade as a needle-felted piece someone could actually have made.

Ключевые особенности

Fibre you can almost feel

Fuzzy edges, matted wool texture and stitched seams read as a physical object under studio lighting, not a filter laid over the original photo.

Likeness held through the texture

Face shape, hair colour and clothing carry over, so it stays recognisably you even after everything is rebuilt out of wool.

Как пользоваться

01

Upload one photo — a head-and-shoulders portrait converts best.

02

Choose a ratio; 2:3 leaves room for the shoulders, 1:1 crops close.

03

Generate, then re-run at a higher resolution once you like the composition.

Глубокое погружение

Why felt suits portraits

Needle felting is forgiving in the way photography is not. Soft edges and irregular fibre hide the small asymmetries a sharp photo makes obvious, which is why felted portraits tend to read as affectionate rather than accurate. The style is doing something for you, not just to you.

Source photos that convert well

Directional light is the single biggest factor — a window to one side gives the wool somewhere to cast shadow, and that shadow is what sells the texture. Avoid heavy backlighting and phone portrait modes with aggressive background blur; the blur has no fibre to convert and often comes out as a smear behind an otherwise good portrait.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

Does it work on full-body photos?+

Yes, but detail thins out. Felt reads best when the face fills a good part of the frame, so head-and-shoulders gives the strongest result.

Will my clothes be recreated in felt too?+

Yes — the whole image is rebuilt in the material, including clothing and background, which is what makes it look like one made object rather than a cut-out.

Can I do pets?+

Pets work very well. Fur and wool are close enough as materials that the conversion is unusually convincing.

Why does my result look flat?+

Usually the source is lit flat. Felt depends on side light to show fibre depth, so a photo with some directional lighting gives a much better result.
